The question is, is it ethical for a typical employer to check personal information on social networking sites of its job applicants and make employment decisions based on this information? What about for current employees?
Step 1. Position choice
Decide what position you want to take on social media for employment decisions; a pro or con position.
Step 2. Paper Writing
Once you have identified the position you want to take (pro or con), you will engage in finding research to support the position taken. Once you identify the research you want to use, you will write up your position in a paper.
Instructions
After you have researched your PRO or CON Social Media Position, you will write a two page minimum position paper arguing the “advantages of social media for employment decisions” or the “disadvantages of social media for employment decisions”.
Your paper should include the arguments you determine most compelling to support your position.
Make sure to properly cite all of your research using the APA citation method. Your position paper will be a minimum of two pages, double-spaced, properly cited.
